I have had more Cake Smash sessions this winter then I ever have in any previous year!
I Love seeing all of these beautiful babies growing up, celebrating their birthdays, their little expressions are so amazing. The themes these mamas have chosen have been So gorgeous. I love getting the chance to be creative and design a unique set for each baby. SO when this sweethearts' Mom asked me for a Boho theme, I was excited to get to work and I LOVE how it turned out. Mom had requested a little teepee style tent, floral elements, greenery, Twinkle lights, vases and the little lantern style cases. Our antique cake stand and macrame dream catchers were the perfect additions to complete this set.
All of our sessions start with a few traditional timeless portraits on a alternative set up, Most often we use our classic masters backdrop set. These images are meant to showcase each beautiful baby on a backdrop the compliments and does not distract. The custom cake set ups are amazing, but they can get pretty busy and I love parents to have some style variety. Just a beautiful images focusing on their baby before we start the birthday fun.
After we get a few great expressions we move on to babies custom designed cake smash set. We start with the non cake portraits first, often parents bring a separate outfit for these, again just to have more variety.
We have a great selection of little benches, beds, chairs, and props available and moms enjoy getting to choose which items we use.
Then we ditch the props, sit right down on the set and bring out the cake!
Some babies Dig right in and take a bite, some babies take a few minutes to warm up to this strange new food, and some babies like this one are enchanted with the cake topper <3
Each baby has a different unique reaction to their birthday cake and it is So Much fun to watch! But one thing that most babies have in common is their LOVE of bath time! After we are done taking the cake images and singing happy birthday most parents choose to move onto bath time. We offer Bubble baths or Milk baths. The SPLASH part of our CAKE SMASH AND SPLASH sessions are a Blast! Nearly every baby is giggling or smiling at this point. Sometimes we get a few bubbles on the ground, and sometimes we get huge puddles everywhere. But we always have FUN!
