First Birthday Cake Smash portrait sessions did not exist when my children were little, but I can’t even begin to tell you how glad I am that they do now! These sessions are a Blast! Each set up is unique and based off nearly any idea that the parents can come up with.  This can be babies favorite food, color, cartoon, animal, a nursery theme, a season, a holiday, a family tradition or a location or activity that your family enjoys. I will chat with you and exchange ideas until we finalize a vision.  

     While I order all of the props and supplies needed and custom design the session for you, Due to the possibility of food allergies I do not provide the cake or anything else the baby will consume.

     After smashing that 1st cake your baby can also enjoy bubble or milk bath portraits with our Cake Smash & Splash session option.  The bath portion is often where we get the BIGGEST giggles and grins! I do have some outfits available at the studio, as well as an amazon list of recommended outfits if parents want to bring their own.

     Due to the custom nature of these sessions, most parents choose to  order a special unique outfit for their birthday baby.

     These portraits make great presents for friends and relatives and also add a extra special touch when used for their birthday invitations. We can do these sessions anytime around their birthday or If you would like the portraits ready ahead of time to print for your party or invites then we recommend scheduling the session for 1 month before their actual birthday. Some props and supplies need to be special ordered ahead of time and I may need a few weeks to get them in stock, so its never too early to start planning and schedule your baby’s 1st Birthday Cake Smash Portrait Session in our Richmond- Midlothian Photography Studio
